Longley at 70
The Belfast poet Michael Longley was presented with a Festschrift by his publisher, at a surprise birthday in Queens University. It is a collection of writings by other writers who love and admire him. The dear man was quite taken aback.

Ghost in a Poem
Sinead Morrissey wrote a poem, inspired by pictures of a little girl, imagining that the girl was Alice as photographed by Lewis Carroll. Then a visitor explained the pictures to her. They were, in fact, the pictures she imagined them to be.
